Important Club Update

To our RMJRSC community,

We want to share an important update following the Executive Meeting held on September 18, 2025.

Over the past season, several of our coaches, including our Coach Coordinator, have decided not to return, and a number of Executive members have also stepped away from their roles. Combined with limited engagement from our broader membership, it has become increasingly difficult to sustain club operations.

After careful consideration, the Executive has made the difficult decision to place RMJRSC on hiatus.

This decision was not made lightly. Our hope is that, with time and renewed interest, a new Executive team will come forward to carry the club forward. If a new Executive is not established and the club is not reactivated by September 10, 2026, the current Executive will move ahead with formal dissolution and the necessary steps to officially close RMJRSC.

We are deeply grateful to all of our members, volunteers, coaches, young athletes, and families who have supported the club over the years. RMJRSC has always been more than a x-country ski club, it has been a place where friendships were built, skills were developed, and a love for sport was shared.

We will continue to post updates here as they become available.

With appreciation,
The RMJRSC Executive Team

Trail Grooming and Park Passes

On October 30th 2020, Alberta Parks announced that they will be partnering with Nordiq Alberta who will take care of trail maintenance, grooming, and track setting throughout Kananaskis this coming season.

Details can be found at the following website:

Trail conditions – Nordiq Alberta

The program will be based on users purchasing parking passes (day or annual) to help fund Nordiq Alberta’s efforts. The day Kananaskis Conservation Pass are $15 and an annual pass is $90 (register up to 2 vehicles). For anyone joining our club for this year, I urge you to support Nordiq Alberta with the purchase of the annual pass (we will be skiing in Kananaskis more than 5 times).

Further, one to two of our cross country ski days are in Banff National Park and the purchase of Parks Canada day pass will be necessary in the absence of a annual pass.

I want to thank Nordiq Alberta for all of their work in making this happen. It likely wasn’t easy, but their support of our sport in Alberta is amazing.

Thank you.
